Diquat is a non-selective contact herbicide of pyridine genus for control of weeds. It has a little conductibility. After spraying on leaves, the medicament can be absorbed by the chlorenchyma rapidly. Bipyridyl chemicals formed hyperoxide though biochemical reaction in the chlorenchyma. The accumulation of hyperoxide can destroy the cells and make the action parts become withered and scorch quickly. This product can’t penetrate the mature bark, and deactivated when it reaches soil by rapidly binding to soil particles. Basically, it has no breakage power towards underground rhizome. Uses: 1.Diquat is used on non-crop land and fruit orchards. Diquat can prevent and control most of the green weeds, and it is especially applicable on the land where broad-leaved weeds get the upper hand. 2. Diquat is also used as desiccant for seed plant. Before the harvest of soybean, flax, sunflower, corn, broomcorn, rice and wheat, spray the diquat on these plants, remaining green parts and weeds will be withered rapidly. So they can be harvested ahead of time and be reaped collectively. In this way, there will be less seeds loss and the seeds will be purer and drier and this can reduce the costs of cleaning up and drying after harvest. 3.Wilting effect for plants like potatoes before harvest. Spraying diquat before harvest, green leaves and caudex will damp off soon and will be convenient to collect and transport. 4.Diquat is used as ripener for cotton before the harvest. At the last stage of cotton growth, spraying diquat on leads to rapid leaf wilting, making the cotton ripe collectively and easy to collect.
